Join Us!
Whoever you are, there's a place for you in the society. Maybe you've always wanted to go on stage, but can't face audition stress - you've come to the right place; we're the only stage society on campus not to audition for its chorus. Maybe you play an instrument - we need keen people for our pit orchestra. Maybe you're artistic or practical - thought about set design? Maybe you're a hands on bodger, or an electrical artiste - we need all the techies we can get for show week, and set building. Even if you don't think you fit these roles, there's plenty of stuff to be done to put a show on - we can always find jobs for people to do if you're keen to be involved in some way!
Everyone! Don't worry if you've never been involved in a stage production before; ability is welcomed, but no experience is necessary, just enthusiasm. You don't even need to have heard of Gilbert and Sullivan - their stuff is easy to pick up, light, and we learn it bit-by-bit. With rehearsals and socials, you'll make good friends and have lots of giggles, and the sense of achievement when it all comes together makes the effort worthwhile!
If you're at all interested in any part of putting on a musical, we're the society for you! The emphasis is on having fun and making friends; the fact that we put on a show twice a year is an added bonus!
OK, I want to join. How do I do it?
Summer Show rehearsals are every Thursday 7:30-9:30 pm in L/N/002 and every Sunday 2:00-7:30pm in L/028. We are also looking for people to be a part of our technical crew, and for artistic people to help us with set building on Saturdays 10:00am - 3:00 pm in Goodricke Old Dining Hall.
