G&SSocietyWe decided at our Annual General Meeting, on 19th February 1998, that we would put on some sort of production of a non-G&S show. We decided this for various reasons:
- to give us another project to keep us busy after the show in the spring term;
- to make ourselves more widely known amoung the student population;
- to get a regular audience who would come along to our G&S productions;
- to encourage more students to join the society, who might have been put off by the "old fashioned" image of G&S.
So, in the summer term, we staged concert performances of highlights from Grease and Little Shop of Horrors. These shows were directed by Emma Walkey, with assistance from Richard Lee, and musically directed by Hugh Parker, with assistance from Mhairi Sheail.
